Doily to dust pays homage to the age old hand crafted art of our grandmothers.

The Doily was used primarily as a decorative and to protect furniture. Fascinated by these hand woven cloths, we wanted to mix the melancholy of a dying craft aging under dust, as is often the case on the furniture where it lies. The intricacies of it’s patterns remind us of the mandala and the triptych honors the Doily, giving it an ironically meditative status.
